London, Hybrid & flexible

Competitive salary, depending on experience

A growing and highly regarded accountancy firm is looking to appoint a Private Client Tax Manager / Senior Manager into its established and expanding tax team.

The role will focus on a varied portfolio of HNW individuals, families, entrepreneurs, business owners and trustees, with a strong mix of compliance and advisory work.

This is a particularly good opportunity for someone who wants genuine client ownership, Partner exposure and more complex advisory work, rather than being purely compliance-focused.

There is also scope to develop your management, business development and technical skills as the team continues to grow.

What you'll be doing
  • Managing a portfolio of HNW and UHNW individuals, families, entrepreneurs and business owners
  • Preparing and reviewing complex UK Self-Assessment tax returns
  • Advising on income tax, CGT, IHT and wider estate planning
  • Working on international tax matters, including worldwide income and foreign tax credits
  • Advising on UK residence and the latest post-April 2025 tax rules
  • Supporting clients through HMRC enquiries, settlements and voluntary disclosures
  • Advising on trusts, estates and offshore structures
  • Providing advice around UK property taxation and property structuring
  • Working on de-enveloping and wider property planning matters
  • Building strong, long-term relationships with clients
  • Reviewing work and supporting more junior members of the team
  • Managing workflows and ensuring deadlines and quality standards are maintained
  • Getting involved in technical articles and wider marketing/BD activity
What we're looking for
  • 3-4+ years' experience in UK Private Client Tax
  • Strong experience working with HNW/UHNW individuals, families or business owners
  • A solid background across both personal tax compliance and advisory
  • ATT, CTA, ACA or equivalent qualification
  • Strong technical knowledge across income tax, CGT and IHT
  • Good understanding of international/private client tax matters
  • Confident communicator who enjoys building genuine client relationships
  • Organised, commercially minded and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
  • Previous experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members

Experience across offshore trusts, estate planning, international tax or property structuring would be a real advantage.

What's on offer
  • Competitive salary depending on experience
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Genuine autonomy and client ownership
  • Direct exposure to senior tax professionals and Partners
  • A varied HNW/UHNW client base
  • Strong opportunity to develop your advisory and technical experience
  • Management and mentoring responsibilities
  • Opportunity to get involved in business development and marketing
  • Clear scope to progress as the team continues to grow

This Private Client Tax Manager / Senior Manager role would suit someone who wants to move beyond straightforward compliance and take on more complex advisory work, greater client responsibility and genuine progression.
