Job summary

About us

We are a small, growing, values led group of two organisations: one delivering domiciliary care in peoples homes, the other providing supported housing. Youll be employed by our care company and work across both organisations.

The role

You'll own the day-to-day financial operations and accounting for both our care and housing businesses, and keep an eye on how the group is performing. You'll work closely with our Compliance Officer and Registered manager on regulatory and KPI monitoring, produce the KPI reports that show we're meeting our standards, and support our Operations Officer with housing-related tasks. Our external accountants handle statutory accounts, tax returns and company filings. You'll report to the Managing Director and work daily with the Operations Officer and Compliance Officer and Registered Manager.

What you'll bring

AAT Level 3 or 4 or part-qualified ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent experience

min 2 years in a finance or bookkeeping role, including preparing returns

Confident with accounting software Xero, QuickBooks or Sage

Good Excel skills and clear reporting for non-finance colleagues

Organised, accurate and comfortable working across several teams and chasing councils and suppliers

Flexible and happy to pitch in where the business needs it

Experience in care, supported living or housing, or with CQC or similar KPI reporting, is an advantage

Main duties of the job

Finance

Run bookkeeping across both organisations: sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, journals and intercompany recharges

Enter supplier invoices for approval, coded to the correct organisation

Raise invoices to councils, the NHS and private clients, and match them to care hours

Monitor aged debtors and chase payments

Track supported housing rent, service charges and housing benefit

Prepare payroll inputs and payment runs for director approval

Produce monthly management accounts and cash-flow reports

Prepare year end schedules for our external accountants

Monitoring and compliance

Work with the Compliance Officer to track regulatory requirements and KPIs across both businesses

Produce regular KPI reports for the Managing Director and Registered Manager, and for funders and regulators where needed

Spot trends in costs, income and performance, and flag concerns early

Housing and operations

Support the Operations Officer with housing-related tasks, such as rent and service charge queries, tenancy records and contractor invoices

Work with the Registered Manager on care hours, rotas and billing accuracy

Help out on operational work across both organisations as and when needed, depending on the needs of the business.
