The Human Resources Manager, Palmgrove Suites, 22 Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Dear Sir/Madam,

APPLICATION FOR THE POSITION OF FRONT DESK OFFICER

I am writing to apply for the position of Front Desk Officer advertised on BoQQs. I hold an OND in Hospitality Management and have eighteen months' experience on the front desk of a 60-room hotel in Lekki.

I check in up to 40 guests a shift, handle reservations on the hotel's booking system, and resolve complaints calmly. Our guest review scores for front desk service rose during my time there, and I was named staff member of the month twice.

I am comfortable working shifts, weekends and public holidays, and can resume immediately. Thank you for considering my application; I would be glad to attend an interview at your convenience.

Yours faithfully,

Blessing Okon

Show guest skills
Volumes handled, complaints resolved, reviews — hotels hire for calm and courtesy under pressure.
Confirm your availability
Shifts, weekends and public holidays are the norm. Saying you can work them removes a common doubt.

Common questions

Do I need a hospitality qualification?
Not always. An OND or HND in Hospitality helps, but many hotels hire for attitude and train on the job — experience in customer-facing roles such as retail counts.
Should I attach a photo?
Only if the advert asks for one. Some hotel adverts do for guest-facing roles; otherwise leave it off.
