The Director of Nursing Services, Riverside Specialist Hospital, 3 Hospital Road, Enugu.

Dear Sir/Madam,

APPLICATION FOR THE POSITION OF REGISTERED NURSE

I am writing to apply for the position of Registered Nurse advertised on BoQQs. I am a Registered Nurse with a B.N.Sc. from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and hold a current practising licence from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

I have two years' experience on a busy medical-surgical ward, caring for up to eight patients a shift, administering medication, and supporting doctors on ward rounds. I completed my NYSC at a general hospital, where I also helped run immunisation clinics.

I can resume within two weeks. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the role. Thank you for considering my application.

Yours faithfully,

Ngozi Okeke

Common questions

Do I need a current NMCN licence to apply?
To practise as a nurse in Nigeria you need a current licence from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Hospitals will ask for it; renew it before you apply if it has lapsed.
Should I mention post-basic certifications?
Yes — midwifery, perioperative, critical care or public health nursing certifications set you apart for specialist roles.
