As an Associate Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of complex building services projects, managing multidisciplinary teams and maintaining strong client relationships. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the mechanical or electrical design process from concept to completion
- Overseeing the production of detailed calculations, specifications, and technical drawings
- Managing project delivery, including resource planning, budgeting, and quality assurance
- Conducting site inspections and supporting construction-stage activities
- Collaborating with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines
- Mentoring junior and intermediate engineers, supporting their development
- Contributing to business development, fee proposals, and bid submissions
- Promoting sustainable design and innovation across all projects
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it)
- Proven experience delivering building services projects within a consultancy environment
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
- Commercial awareness and experience with project cost control
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Hevacomp, IES, Dialux, Relux)
- Full UK driving licence
